Note. When replacing the brake pads or brake disc, be sure to replace the pads or disc on the other side of the vehicle.
Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Install a pressurizer on the brake pedal to reduce the amount of brake fluid escaping.
Unlock the steering wheel.
Remove the front wheels.
Release the parking brake cable.
Mark the cable route for subsequent installation.
Loosen the brake hose.
Loosen the guide pin bolts.
Remove the brake caliper and brake pads.
Check the condition of the elements of the brake system (replace damaged parts).
Clean the staple guides and the staples themselves.
Move the piston inside the cylinder until it stops using a special tool (Fre. 1190-01).
Installation
Install new brake pads, starting with the inner pad.
Install:
- brake caliper;
- guide pin bolts.
Torque tighten:
- guide pin bolts (36 Nm);
- brake hose (17 Nm).

Install the parking brake cable (pic. 6.72).
Make sure the parking brake cable stopper is correctly inserted into the socket.
Bleed the brake system.
Check the brake fluid level.
Pull the parking brake lever several times to activate the parking brake application and release system and the automatic brake pad wear compensation device.
Install the wheel with a tightening torque of 105 Nm.
Attention! If the brake fluid reservoir has not been completely emptied during work, bleed the air from part of the hydraulic circuit of the brake system. Otherwise, bleed the entire hydraulic circuit of the brake system.
Attention! Check the brake fluid level.
