Rear Disc Brake Caliper — Removal and Installation (Renault Espace I)

1. Remove the brake pads as described above.

2. Disconnect the caliper drive line.

3. Disconnect the brake system drive cable.

4. Unscrew and remove both bolts (see illustration).

5. Disconnect the brake hydraulic cylinder from the hose. Collect the brake fluid in the reservoir.

6. Install the caliper as follows:

7. Screw on the brake hose and connect the brake line to the caliper.

8. Open the nipple and wait until the brake fluid starts to flow out. Tighten the bolt again.

9. Install the cylinder and tighten the bolts to 100 Nm. Lubricate the threads with Loctite sealant.

10. Install the brake pads back into place.

11. After installing the caliper, bleed the brake system. Bleeding is easier if the caliper is filled with brake fluid in advance.
