General information
The car is equipped with ABS BOSCH 8.0 system.
Depending on the vehicle's equipment level, the BOSCH 8.0 system includes only ABS brakes or ABS combined with the electronic stability control (ESC).
Note: After any work has been carried out on the electronic stability control system, the repair results must be verified by road testing and using the diagnostic tool (CLIP).
Description of the ABS system with trajectory stabilization function
The ABS system consists of:
- vacuum brake booster assembly with master brake cylinder;
- an electric pump assembly that includes a hydraulic pump and a pressure control unit (12 electromagnetic valves);
- ABS ECU;
- pressure sensor;
- steering wheel angle sensor integrated into the electric power steering;
- combined angular and lateral acceleration sensor;
- four wheel speed sensors;
- trajectory stabilization function switch.
Operating principle of the ABS system with trajectory stabilization function
Optimal parameters are calculated continuously based on measurements of wheel speed and steering angle. These parameters reflect the optimal behavior of the car on the road.
They are compared with the actual vehicle motion parameters based on measurements of angular and lateral acceleration.
When a deviation of the actual trajectory from the optimal one is detected, the corresponding wheel is braked. In some cases, when control is insufficient, the system brakes both wheels simultaneously. The torque created in this way returns the car to the optimal trajectory.
In some cases the system (when the anti-skid function is activated) changes the engine torque.
Peculiarities of the trajectory stabilization system
The trajectory stabilization system function can be switched off using a switch located on the instrument panel.
The system cannot be switched off if the speed exceeds the threshold of 50 km/h.
The system is automatically reactivated when the ignition is turned on or if the speed exceeds 50 km/h.
