Visual check of pad thickness
Check pad thickness. To do this, raise the car, remove the wheel and look through the inspection hole in the cylinder body.
Minimum thickness of brake pads: 1 mm.
Limit wear: 2.0 mm.
Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Remove rear wheels.
Disconnect the parking brake cables from the holders.
Unscrew the bolts securing the lower guide pins of the brackets.

Turn up brake calipers (pic. 6.70).
Remove the brake pads.
Check the condition of the elements of the brake system (replace damaged parts).
Clean the shoe guides and brackets.
Installation

Move the piston inside the cylinder until it stops using a special tool (Fre. 1190-01) (pic. 6.71).
Install new brake pads.
Tighten the guide pin bolts.
Note. Coat the threads of the guide pins with FRENBLOC (or its equivalent) before installing them.
Tighten the required torque of 36 Nm bolts of the lower fastening of the guide pins of the bracket.
Install the parking brake cables.
Note. Press the brake pedal several times to set the pistons to the working position.
Note. Pull the parking brake lever several times to activate the parking brake system and automatic brake pad wear compensation.
Install wheels.
Torque tighten 105 Nm wheel bolts.
