Removal



Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.

Remove the front wheels.

Loosen the guide pin mounting bolts (Fig. 6.65).

Attach the brake caliper to the suspension spring.

Remove the brake pads.

Unscrew the two bolts securing the brake shoe guide.

Remove the brake shoe guide.

Check the condition of the brake system components (replace damaged parts).

Clean the shoe guides and brackets.

Installation



Move the piston inside the cylinder using a special tool (Fre. 1190-01) all the way.

Before installation, apply FRENBLOC to the threads of the brake caliper bracket mounting bolts and guide pins (or its equivalent).

Install the shoe guide.

Install the shoe guide mounting bolts.

tighten the brake shoe guide mounting bolts to the required torque of 105 Nm.

Install new brake pads, starting with the inner ones.

Install the brake caliper and guide pin mounting bolts.

Caution: Securely fasten the brake hose and wheel speed sensor wires if they were disconnected.




Caution: Do not twist the brake hose.


Check the brake fluid level.

tighten the guide pin mounting bolts to the specified torque of 32 Nm.

Install the wheels.

tighten the wheel mounting bolts to the required torque of 105 Nm.

Note: Press the brake pedal several times to set the pistons to the working position.


Check the brake fluid level.
