Note: Be sure to replace the input shaft nut, input shaft nut washer, output shaft bolt, fifth gear fork pin with new ones.
1. Use a cleaning agent to clean the ends of the gearbox shafts.
2. Apply a few drops of FRENETANCHE to the 5th gear splines.
3. Install the fixed 5th gear onto the output shaft with the mounting bolt (Bvi. 1175) (16).
4. Remove mounting bolt (Bvi. 1175).
5. Install the lock washer, intermediate gear support ring, fifth gear with synchronizer ring and fifth gear synchronizer hub with keys on the input shaft.
6. Install the fifth gear fork with the stem.
7. Install a new input shaft nut washer.
8. Fit a new input shaft nut.
9. Fit a new output shaft bolt.
10. Engage fifth gear by moving the fifth gear fork.
11. Tighten the input shaft nut to 190 Nm.
12. Tighten the output shaft bolt to 80 Nm.
13. Move the gearbox to neutral.
14. Hang the engine using a traverse (Mot. 1453) with screw bracket (Mot. 1453-01).
15. Install a new 5th gear fork pin using a cylindrical drift.
16. Lower the engine using the yoke (Mot. 1453) with screw bracket (Mot. 1453-01).
Note: To prevent damage to the reverse switch, make sure it does not touch the subframe when lowering the engine.
17.Install the fifth gear housing.
18. Install the front left fender liner.
19. Install the front left wheel on the car.
20.Install the engine protection tray.
