Attention! When performing this operation, the following requirements must be strictly observed:
- - do not smoke in the work area and do not bring hot objects to the work area;
- - take measures to prevent gasoline from splashing under the influence of residual pressure in the pipelines;
- - take measures to protect against gasoline getting on elements that may fail.
Caution: Before performing this operation, be sure to turn off the ignition.
Preparing for draining (k4J, F4R engines)
Disconnect the fuel supply line fitting.
Install a "tee" in its place.

Attach a hose of sufficient length to the "tee" to drain the fuel into a container while the pump is running (Fig. 2.22).
Preparing for draining (k4M engine)
Disconnect the fuel supply line fitting.
Install a "tee" in its place.

Attach a hose of sufficient length to the "tee" to drain the fuel into a container while the pump is running (Fig. 2.23).

Move the connector to the side without disconnecting it (Fig. 2.24).

Disconnect the brown connector of the protection and switching unit (Fig. 2.25).
Fuel drain (all engines)
Connect the brown connector contact to the positive battery terminal to operate the fuel pump.
Wait until the gasoline stops flowing out in a continuous stream.

Disconnect the "+" terminal of the battery from the contact (Fig. 2.26).
Note: To empty the fuel tank, you can also use a pneumatic transfer pump, which must be connected to the "tee" (Mot. 1311-08).
