Removal



Remove the top engine covers.

Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.

Remove the gasket and plastic rivets (Fig. 2.11).

Remove the decorative trim (Fig. 2.12).

Remove the windshield wiper arms using a special tool (Fig. 2.13).

Remove the fastening elements of the front shield soundproofing material and the front shield soundproofing material (Fig. 2.14).

Unscrew the intake noise muffler mounting bolt (Fig. 2.15).

Remove the intake silencer.

Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the intake manifold.

Unscrew the two bolts securing the air filter cover (Fig. 2.16).

Remove the filter element.

Caution! Do not damage the vacuum take-off pipe on the intake manifold. If the pipe is broken, replace the manifold.

Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector and remove the holder (Fig. 2.17).

Unscrew the air distribution unit mounting bolts (Fig. 2.18).

Remove the air filter housing.

Installation



Replace the throttle body gasket each time it is removed, using grease to ease installation.

Plastic rivets and holders should also be replaced after each removal.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Tighten the air filter assembly mounting bolts to the specified torque (9 Nm).

Connect the wires to the battery terminals, starting with the positive terminal.

Tighten the battery cover mounting bolts to the specified torque (4 Nm).
