Removal the starter
1. Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Remove the air resonator (see chapter "Intake and exhaust system").
4. Move the gear shift lever boot.
5. Loosen the bolt (1) securing the gear shift rod.

Note: The gearshift rod is connected via a spacer. Be careful not to lose the spacer when unscrewing the bolt.
6. Disconnect the gear shift rod (2).
7. Unscrew the nut (5) of the starter solenoid terminal.

8. Unscrew the nut (6) of the starter terminal.
9. Loosen the starter mounting bolts (7).
10. Remove the starter from under the car.
Installing the starter
1. Check the presence of the dowel pin in the cylinder block.
2. Install the starter from under the car.
3. Install the starter mounting bolts and tighten to 44 Nm.
4. Connect the starter terminals.
5. Tighten the starter terminal nut to 8 N·m and the starter solenoid terminal nut to 5 N·m.
6. Connect the gear shift rod and tighten the rod bolt to a torque of 28 N·m.
7. Install the gear shift lever boot.
8. Install the air resonator.
9. Connect the battery.
