Removal the starter
1. Place the vehicle on a two-stop lift.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Loosen the bolt (2) securing the gear shift rod.
Note: The gearshift rod is connected using a spacer. Be careful not to lose the spacer when loosening the bolt (2).
4. Loosen the fasteners (3) and remove the intake manifold bracket from the cylinder block.
5. Disconnect the starter terminals (5).
6. Unscrew the mounting bolts (4) and the starter from the engine.
Installing the starter
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Note:
Tightening torques:
- starter mounting bolts: 44 Nm;
- starter power supply terminal nut: 8 Nm;
- starter solenoid nut: 5 Nm.
