Trunk door (station wagon) (Renault Logan 2)

Removal and installation the trunk door

Removal the tailgate without hinges

1. Remove the trunk door trim.

2. Disconnect the following connectors:

• rear wiper motor;
• high brake light;
• trunk door lock;
• heated rear window;
• license plate lighting.

3. Remove the trunk lid wiring.

4. Remove the rear window washer hoses.

5. Remove the pneumatic struts of the trunk door.

6. Loosen the bolts (1) on both sides of the vehicle.



7. Remove the trunk door (two people will be needed).

Installing a tailgate without hinges

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Adjust the gaps around the perimeter of the trunk door and the alignment of the door surfaces and adjacent body surfaces.

Removal the tailgate with hinges

1. Partially remove the ceiling trim.

2. Remove the trunk door trim.

3. Disconnect the following connectors:

• rear wiper motor;
• high brake light;
• trunk door lock;
• heated rear window;
• license plate lighting.

4. Remove the trunk lid wiring.

5. Remove the rear window washer hoses.

6. Remove the pneumatic struts of the trunk door.

7. Unscrew the nuts (2) on both sides of the vehicle.



8. Remove the trunk door (two people will be needed).

Installing a tailgate with hinges

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Adjust the gaps around the perimeter of the trunk door and the alignment of the door surfaces and adjacent body surfaces.

Adjusting the trunk door

Note: Body clearance values are given in the "Body Repair and Dimensions" section below.

There are three ways to adjust the trunk lid:

• by means of bolts for fastening the tailgate hinges;
• by means of the nuts securing the tailgate hinges;
• via the tailgate locking bar panel.

Note: Observe the sequence of adjustment zones shown in the figure.

Note: The symbols A, B, C and D represent the adjustment method. The black dot in the center corresponds to the bolt shaft. The gray areas correspond to the adjustable component. The white areas correspond to the Adjustment area.

Adjustment by means of tailgate hinge mounting bolts

1. Loosen the bolts (1) securing the awnings to the trunk door on both sides of the vehicle.



2. Adjust the gaps around the perimeter of the trunk door.

3. Tighten the bolts securing the awnings to the trunk door.

Adjustment by means of nuts for fastening the tailgate hinges

1. Partially remove the ceiling trim.

2. Unscrew the nuts (2) of the hinges on both sides of the vehicle.



3. Adjust the gaps around the perimeter of the trunk door.

4. Tighten the nuts securing the hinges.

5. Install the ceiling trim.

Adjustment via the trunk lid locking bracket panel

1. Remove the trunk sill trim.

2. Loosen the lock bracket bolts (3).





2. Adjust the gaps around the perimeter of the trunk door.

3. Tighten the lock bracket mounting bolts.
