Removal and installation rear doors

Note:

This operation can be performed in two ways:
  • removal without overhangs (used when replacing doors)
  • removal with awnings (used to provide initial adjustment)


The front door can be removed without removing the front fender.

Removal the rear door



1. Remove the rear door wiring harness boot protector (1) from the B-pillar of the body (depending on the level of equipment).

2. Disconnect the connector (2) of the rear door (depending on the equipment level).

3. Loosen the bolt (3) of the rear door limiter.

4. Move the rear door limiter to the side.



Removal without overhangs

5. Loosen the bolts (4) of the rear side door.

6. Remove the rear door from the car (two people will be needed).

Removal with awnings

7. Unscrew the nuts (5) and bolts (6) of the front door.

7. Unscrew the nuts (5) and bolts (6) of the front door.


8. Remove the rear door from the car (two people will be needed).

Installing the rear door



Installation without canopies

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Adjust the gaps around the perimeter of the front door and the alignment of the door surfaces and adjacent body surfaces.

Check the functioning of all elements.

Installation with canopies

Note: Apply a bead of sealing mastic to door hinges.


Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Rear door adjustment



Note: Body clearance values are given in the "Body Repair and Dimensions" section below.


There are two ways to adjust the rear doors:
  • via the rear door fasteners;
  • via the rear door locking striker panel.

Note: Observe the sequence of adjustment zones shown in the figure. Adjustment of zones (4) and (5) is only possible if the position of the front door is adjusted correctly.

Height and length adjustment



1. Loosen the bolts and nuts securing the rear door hinges to the body.

2. Adjust zones (1) and (2) in sequence (see illustration of adjustment sequence above)

3. Adjust zones (3), (4) and (5) (see illustration of adjustment sequence above).

Note: Adjustment of zones (3) and (4) is only possible if the position of the rear door is correctly adjusted.


4. Tighten the internal bolts and nuts securing the front door hinges to the body.

Adjusting the door seat depth



1. Loosen the bolts securing the awnings to the rear door.

1. Loosen the bolts securing the awnings to the rear door.


Note: The original hinge mounting plates are glued to the door frame. To make adjustments, remove the plate using a block of wood and a hammer.


2. Adjust the depth in zones (1), (2), (4) and (5) (see illustration of adjustment sequence above).

3. Tighten the bolts securing the awnings to the rear door.



4. Loosen the lock bracket panel bolts.

Note: Adjustment of zones (3) and (4) is only possible if the position of the rear door is correctly adjusted.


5. Perform adjustments in the following sequence:
  • adjust the height of the bracket panel relative to the door lock to prevent them from contacting;
  • adjust the depth in zone (3).

6. Tighten the lock bracket panel bolts.
