Removing the tailgate
1. Open and secure the tailgate.
2. Remove the cable box on the right side.
3. Remove the rear door trim and disconnect the contacts to the heated rear window, the rear window cleaner, and the lock.
4. Detach the lifter from the spherical head of the holder. Bend the holder clamp by 4 mm and remove the lifter.
5. Carefully detach the rear roof lining.
6. Mark the location of the fasteners.
7. Turn off nuts and remove a tailgate.
8. When installing, keep track of the distance between the elements, aligning them by moving the hinge-mounts and moving the lock.
9. Align the height by picking, laying wide flat plates on the door fasteners.
Tailgate Seal Replacement
If dust or moisture enters even though the tailgate is installed correctly, the rubber seal is the cause. It can be broken or torn:
1. Remove the rubber seal.
2. Before installation, please check whether it is deformed or damaged.
3. The seal fits into the grooves in this way (you can use a plastic mallet), so that its joint is directly in the center of the groove of the upper removable part. If the seal is not tight, without tension, then cut it to the required length and tighten it.
4. If necessary, glue the joints of the sealant.
5. Glycerine or a special care product can be used to maintain the seal.
Removing the tailgate lock
1. Remove the cover of the lock cylinder with a contact switch (one screw).
2. Mark position of the lock and fastening bracket on a body.
3. Unscrew 2 screws and remove the lock cylinder and fastening bracket.
4. When installing, tighten both screws first, and then install the bracket.
5. The exact position of the shackle and lock cylinder must be paid attention to when the rear door is closed. To do this, loosen the middle screw so that the bracket still moves.
6. In order for the tailgate not to slam on the go, the lock hook must sit in the mounting bracket with some tension.
