Wing removal sequence
1. Jack up the vehicle, secure and remove the wheel.
2. Remove the side mudguard behind the shock absorber by unscrewing the 2 screws respectively (T20) in wheel arch and screw (SW 10) on the inside of the wing.
3. Remove the wheel arch cover. For this, in the wheel arch (from the side of the door channel) unscrew the T20 screw and 3 brackets. Unscrew the screw in the area of the wheel arch and below in the shock absorber (T20).
4. Remove direction indicators.
5. Remove the grille.
6. Remove shock absorbers.
7. Remove the side mounts of the shock absorbers.
8. Remove the screw (T20) in the decorative overlay of the door channel. Before doing this, carefully remove the channel cladding (depending on the interior equipment).
9. Remove the engine hood with fasteners.
10. Remove the wing - 4 screws along its upper edge; 2 nuts behind in the wheel arch; screw in the front of the engine compartment.
11. With a thin spatula or an old knife, clean the contact surface of the wing with the body. To make the job easier, we recommend that you use a hot air blower or a powerful hair dryer, as the underbody corrosion protection and the seal – compressed when screwed – work like a weld.
12. Carefully remove the fender.
13. Use a scraper with a hair dryer to remove the sealant at the joints; Be careful not to damage the lacquer while doing this.
14. Polish the new wing if necessary.
15. Before installing a new seal, install the wing and check that all joints match.
16. Apply sealant to the joints of the wing and body of the machine in such a way that moisture cannot get there later.
17. Tighten the wing mounting screws.
18. Replace the removed parts.
