Notes:
- Replacing the manifold gasket with a new one requires removing both manifolds. Removal is carried out from the underside of the car.
- Only one exhaust manifold can be removed, but the intake manifold cannot be removed without removing the exhaust manifold.
Removing the intake manifold
- Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
- Remove the air filter, remove the 4 bolts and remove the throttle assembly (rice. 1.31).
- Disconnect the accelerator cable
- Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation system hoses and the throttle body heating hoses, having first clamped the cooling system hoses using clamps Mot. 453-01.
- Disconnect the connectors from the idle air control valve, fuel injectors, air temperature sensor and retract the wiring harness.
- Disconnect the fuel supply and return pipes from the fuel distribution line and the vacuum channel from the pressure regulator.
- From the bottom of the car, remove the right drive shaft.
Removing the exhaust manifold
- From the bottom of the car, remove the right drive shaft. exhaust pipe, reinforcement brace between the manifold and cylinder block, starter thermal insulation shield and torque rod (pic. 1.33).

- Next, if only the exhaust manifold is being removed, from the bottom of the car, unscrew all the nuts securing the intake/exhaust manifolds, including the two side ones (B, Fig. 1.34). securing only the exhaust manifold.

- Remove the exhaust manifold from the underside of the vehicle.
- The intake manifold is removed from the underside of the vehicle after the exhaust manifold is removed.
- The collector gasket must be installed with the metal surface facing the collectors.
