Removal
- Removing the pump-level sensor assembly requires removing the fuel tank.
- Place the car on a lift.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
Attention
- Gasoline is extremely flammable, therefore, when working with fuel system elements, the use of fire, sparking devices, open fire-hazardous lighting devices and smoking is prohibited. Avoid sparking when handling wires and electrical devices.
- The fuel system is under pressure. Before disconnecting the fuel system components, it is necessary to relieve the pressure in the system.
- Tongs Mot. 1265 disconnect the fuel supply line in front of the fuel filter and the fuel return line.
- Disconnect the connector from the fuel level sensor.
- Disconnect the fuel supply line and fuel vapor recovery system pipes from the fuel tank.
- Use a jack over a wooden block to support the fuel tank. Remove the two tank mounting straps and remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
Attention
- Since removing the fuel tank filler pipe is difficult, try not to remove the tank straight down to avoid damaging the pipe. Tongs Mot. 1265 disconnect the fuel supply line (quick-release connection on the pump-level sensor assembly - green) and fuel return line (quick-release connection on the pump-level sensor assembly - red).
- Key Mot. 1397 unscrew the nut and, turning, remove the pump-level sensor assembly.
Notes
- When reinstalling the unit after some time, to prevent deformation of the nut, screw it back into place.
- When connecting fuel lines, it is not necessary to use pliers Mot. 1265. Make sure there are two o-rings and that the pipe connections snap securely.
Installation
- Check that the gasket is not damaged and replace it if necessary.
- Before installing the pump-fuel level sensor assembly, first install the gasket on the fuel tank.
- Orient the pump-level sensor assembly according to the marks.
- Holding the pump-sensor assembly from turning, tighten the nut to a torque of 35 Nm.
