The fuel filter is located under the bottom of the car, behind the fuel tank and is attached to the side member with a clamp.
The fuel filter must be changed every 60,000 km of vehicle mileage.
Replacement
- Before removing the fuel filter, prevent fuel from leaking, but do not pinch the fuel lines, as this may damage them.
- If there are latches, they must be removed before disconnecting the fuel lines.
- Latches are factory installed to ensure a tight seal on quick disconnect fittings
- Using Mot 1265 pliers, disconnect the fuel lines with quick-release couplings from the fuel filter
- Loosen the screws and remove the fuel filter.
Installation
- Install the fuel filter so that the arrow on the filter matches the direction of fuel flow.
- When connecting the fuel pipes, it is not necessary to use the Mot. 1265 pliers. Make sure that the two sealing rings are present and that the pipe connections are securely snapped into place.
