Replacing the fuel filter (Renault Logan 1)

In accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, the fuel filter is replaced after 30,000 km or 2 years of operation (whichever comes first). However, taking into account the experience of operating cars in Russian conditions, we recommend replacing it every 10-15 thousand km. Jerks when driving a car, first at high speeds, and then at low speeds, most likely indicate a clogged filter.

The fuel filter is installed at the bottom of the fuel tank in its front part, so it is more convenient to work on a lift or inspection pit.

Note: Renault Logan vehicles use Bosch fuel filters with catalog number 0 450 902 161.

1. Reduce the pressure in the fuel supply system (see "Lower pressure in the fuel system").



2. Place a container underneath to collect the leaking gasoline, squeeze the clamps and disconnect the fuel supply line tip from the filter.



3. Similarly, disconnect the pipe tip from the other side of the filter.

4. Pull the clamp slightly and remove the fuel filter from it.



5. Install the new fuel filter in the reverse order of removal, so that the arrow on the cylindrical part of the filter housing coincides with the direction of fuel flow. Connect the fuel hose tips to the filter by moving along the fittings until the clamps snap into place.

Caution! After installing the fuel filter, be sure to check the fuel filter connections to the fuel lines for gasoline leaks while the engine is running. If necessary, repeat the operation of connecting the fuel lines until they are securely fastened. If leaks from the connections are not eliminated, replace the sealing rubber rings of the fuel line tips or the fuel lines as a whole.
