Removal


  • Disconnect the electrical connector (3, Fig. 1.39) from the fuel level sensor and using pliers Mot. 1265, disconnect the return (4) and supply (5) fuel pipes. Using pliers Mot. 1265, disconnect the quick-release coupling of the pipe connecting the fuel tank to the filler neck.

  • Remove the filler neck and return pipe fasteners.
  • Place a support under the fuel tank.
  • Remove two bolts and the fuel tank retaining straps.
  • With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the fuel tank.

Installation


  • Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
  • Avoid pinching the tubes as this may cause leaks.
  • Make sure that two O-rings are present, manually connect the quick-release couplings and make sure that they snap into place securely.
  • Ensure that the thermal insulation screen is installed correctly.
