Disconnect the battery.
Drain the fuel from the fuel tank.
Remove:
- upholstery of the luggage compartment;
- baggage hold device.
Remove:
- subframe mounting bolts (1);
- subframe trim (2);
- plastic plug in the cabin (3) from the fuel level sensor module.
Disconnect the fuel level sensor module connector (1).
Disconnect:
- fuel level sensor connectors (1) And (2);
- fuel line fitting (3) from the fuel level sensor.
Loosen the nut securing the fuel level sensor module (4) using a universal wrench to unscrew the nut securing the fuel level sensor (Mot. 1397).
Drain the fuel from the fuel level sensor module.
Attention. To prevent deformation of the tank, immediately screw the fuel level sensor mounting nut onto the fuel tank well.
Remove:
- fuel level sensor, being careful not to damage the float;
- fuel level sensor module seal.
Replace the fuel level sensor nut and gasket.
Install:
- new gasket (5), correctly positioning it in the groove;
- fuel level sensor (6) on the tank. A bracket on the fuel level sensor and tank lug ensures proper installation in the fuel tank.
Apply hand pressure to the fuel level sensor module to secure the gasket.
Tighten the fuel tank nut.
Tighten the fuel level sensor module mounting nut using an allen wrench (Mot. 1397), until the mark on the nut (7) not compatible with the corresponding mark on the fuel tank (8).
Attach:
- fuel line fitting to the fuel level sensor module,
- fuel level sensor connectors.
Lock the fuel level sensor connector.
Checking the fuel level sensor (all engines)
Note. For measuring height H (between float axis and working plane) place the removed sensor on a flat surface.
