Separate replacement of the filter element is not possible, so the filter must be replaced as an assembly.
Removing
Attention! Take precautions for the presence of fuel under residual pressure in the fuel lines.
Disconnect the fuel lines from the filter:
- fuel supply 8 engine 1;
- fuel supply from fuel tank 2 (from low pressure pump);
- draining fuel into tank 3 through a tap (depending on configuration);
- fuel return from engine 4;
- fuel return to the tank through the heat exchanger 5.
Note. Some vehicles do not have this valve. In this case, the fuel system refilling operations are not performed.
Installation
Strictly follow the procedure for connecting the fuel lines to the filter.
Do not pinch or damage fuel lines.
Important note.
- On the fuel filter, at the point of connection of the fuel return line to the fuel tank, there is a valve (R).
- During normal engine operation, the valve should be in the open position.
To fill the system with fuel after performing work, changing the fuel filter or in the event of a fuel failure (when fully developed) perform the following operations:
- turn off the faucet (R);
- turn on the low pressure pump by placing the card in the reader several times in the 2nd fixed position;
- start the engine;
- turn on the faucet (in the open position of the valve, the two colored marks are aligned).
It is necessary to periodically drain water from the fuel filter by unscrewing the drain plug 6.
