The principle of operation of signal lamps
When the card is inserted in the reader in the 2nd fixed position, the preheating signal lamp lights up during the phase «preheating», then turns off.
In the event of a malfunction in the injection system (severity 1) signal lamp •■malfunction» (the same preheating warning light on the conventional instrument panel) lights up permanently, indicating the need to contact a Renault dealer.
These faults include:
- malfunction of the injection computer;
- malfunction of the electronic engine blocking system;
- no engine speed signal (engine does not start);
- malfunction of the fuel pedal position sensor;
- malfunction of the mass air flow sensor;
- malfunction of the vehicle speed sensor;
- malfunction of the exhaust gas recirculation valve;
- malfunction of the boost pressure control solenoid valve;
- mismatch between the signals of the TDC sensors and the position of the camshaft.
In the event of a serious malfunction of the injection system (severity 2) signal lamp with a symbol in the form of an engine with the inscription -STOP» lights up with a flashing light, and you must immediately stop the car. These faults include:
- malfunction of the injection computer;
- injector malfunction;
- deviation from the norm of the supply voltage of the injection computer;
- rail fuel pressure sensor malfunction (TNVD SRZ);
- malfunction of the pressure regulator in the fuel distribution rail;
- mismatch between the signals of the TDC sensors and the position of the camshaft.
When the engine overheats, a signal lamp with a symbol in the form of an engine with an inscription «stop» lights up permanently on the conventional instrument panel and is clearly identified on the matrix instrument panel.
Note. On-Board Diagnostic Warning Light (with engine symbol), which lights up when the card is placed in the reader in the 2nd fixed position, in no case should be lit when the engine is running.
