Precautions when washing the engine
Protect the camshaft and alternator drive belts from water and detergents. Do not allow water to enter the air intake ducts.
Repair of threaded holes
Threaded holes in all parts of the engine can be repaired by using spiral inserts with the appropriate thread.
Tightening torques
Sectional view and tightening torques of threaded connections. (1) - Threads and contact surfaces under the bolt heads lubricated with engine oil, (2) - Pre-tightening to 20 Nm followed by an additional turn at an angle of 68±6°, (3) - Bolt and nut M6, (tightening torque 10 Nm), bolt M8 (tightening torque 22 Nm), (4) - Tightening torque of the camshaft belt tensioner nut 50 Nm, (5) - Before tightening, lubricate the bolt thread and the surface under its head with engine oil.

Parts that are not allowed to be reused
1. All seals and gaskets.
2. Flywheel mounting bolts.
3. Valve guide bushings.
4. Cylinder head mounting bolts.
5. Crankshaft main bearing cap bolts.
The main difference between the K4J engine and the K7J engine - the presence of two camshafts (separate intake and exhaust valves) in the cylinder head. The camshafts are driven by a reinforced toothed belt. Sixteen engine valves are driven by the camshafts using roller rocker arms (rockers). Hydraulic compensators automatically ensure gap-free contact of the camshaft cam with the valve. The cylinder block, crankshaft, flywheel, pistons, piston pins, and connecting rods of both engines are identical. The lubrication, cooling, and power supply systems are also identical in design.
