Removing the tie rod end
1. Place the vehicle on a two post lift.
2. Remove the front wheel from the vehicle.
3. Loosen locknut (1) wheel alignment adjustment.
4. Loosen the nut (2) ball joint of the tie rod end.
5. Remove the ball joint using a special puller (Tav. 476) (3)
6. Unscrew the tie rod end, counting the number of threads on which it was screwed.
7. Remove the tie rod end.
Installing the tie rod end
1. Screw the tie rod end into place by the number of threads counted during removal.
2. Install the tie rod end on the steering knuckle.
3. Install the tie rod end ball joint nut and tighten to 37 Nm.
4. Adjust the toe of the front wheels (see chapter "Suspension") and tighten the tie rod end locknut.
5. Install the front wheel on the car.
6. Check again and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment (see chapter "Suspension").
