Note. The horn button on models equipped with a driver's side airbag has the word "AIRBAG". A new steering wheel bolt will be required during installation.
Models without airbag
Removing
1. Set the front wheels to position "directly" and lock the steering column lock.
2. Trying not to damage the steering wheel, carefully wring out the horn button with a screwdriver. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the key.
3. Turn away a bolt of fastening of a steering wheel and throw out it - it is subject to replacement.
4. Mark the steering wheel and steering column shaft, then remove the wheel from the shaft grooves. If the wheel cannot be removed, knock it off by tapping on the center with the palm of your hand, or use a twisting motion.
Installation
5. Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
- a) Before installing, make sure the multi-function turn signal switch is in the center position. If this is not done, the steering wheel protrusion will break the switch key when it is installed.
- b) Install the wheel, align the marks made before removal, then insert a new mounting bolt and tighten it to the specified Specifications effort.
Models with airbag
Before starting work, see the Precautions given in Chapter Onboard electrical equipment.
