Removal
1. Acting in accordance with the description in Chapter Maintenance, loosen the auxiliary drive belt and remove the belt from the pump pulley. Note that the pump pulley mounting bolts must be loosened before removing the belt.
2. Using special clamps, pinch the pump feed hose. This will reduce fluid loss during subsequent steps.
E7J and K7M engines with air conditioning
1. Loosen the three mounting bolts and remove the pulley from the pump, noting its orientation.
2. Disconnect the feed hose from the pump, then loosen the union nut and separate the feed tube. Be prepared for fluid to escape when disconnecting the tube and hose, and plug their ends and the pump couplings to minimize fluid loss and prevent dirt from entering the unit. Discard the sealing ring of the feed tube union nut - it must be replaced.
3. Loosen the bolts securing the booster pump to the bracket and remove the pump from the engine.
E7J and K7M engines without air conditioning
1. Proceed as described above in paragraphs 1 and 2 of E7J AND K7M ENGINE REMOVAL WITH AIR CONDITIONING.

2. Unscrew the two upper and front mounting bolts and remove the pump (refer to the accompanying illustration).
All other engines
1. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the pulley from the pump.
2. On F3R and F8Q engines, remove the harness and feed tube retaining clamp bolt.
3. On F7R engines with air conditioning, remove the generator (refer to Chapter Engine electrical equipment) and the auxiliary drive belt tensioning mechanism.
4. Disconnect the feed hose from the pump, then loosen the union nut and separate the feed tube. Be prepared for fluid to escape when disconnecting the tube and hose, and plug their ends and the pump couplings to minimize fluid loss and prevent dirt from entering the unit. Discard the feed tube union nut sealing ring - it must be replaced.

5a. On F3R and F8Q engines, loosen the three bolts securing the power steering pump to the bracket.

5b. Remove the pump from the engine (refer to the illustrations).

6a. On f7R engines, loosen the left bolt securing the pump to the bracket.

6b. Loosen the right bolts that secure it (refer to the illustrations). Remove the pump.
Installation
All other engines
1. Place the pump assembly in the operating position and tighten the mounting bolts securely.
2. Install a new sealing ring on the supply tube coupling, insert the tube into the pump and tighten the coupling nut to the specifications Specifications force. Connect the feed tube and tighten the fastening bracket securely. Where necessary, install the fastening clamp bolt of the feed tube and wire harness and tighten it.
3. Install the pulley and insert the mounting bolts, but do not tighten them yet.
4. On F7R engines with air conditioning, install the generator (refer to Chapter Engine electrical equipment) and belt tensioning mechanism.
5. Install the drive belt and tension it as described in Chapter Maintenance. Lock the pump pulley with a suitable tool and tighten its bolts.
6. Remove the clamps from the feed hose and bleed the hydraulic system as described in Section Bleeding the hydraulic system of the power steering.
