Removal the steering wheel
1. Perform the airbag system deactivation procedure (see chapter "Passive safety system").
2. Remove the driver's front airbag (see chapter "Passive safety system").
3. Set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.
4. Disconnect the connectors.
5. Loosen the steering wheel mounting bolt.
6. Remove the steering wheel.
Installing the steering wheel
Caution: Be sure to replace the steering wheel mounting bolt with a new one after each removal.
1. Check the adjustment of the contact disk (see chapter "Passive safety system").
Caution: To prevent damage to the steering wheel or steering column, the splines of the steering column are designed in such a way that the steering wheel can only be installed in one position.
2. Install the steering wheel.
3. Connect the connectors.
4. Install a new steering wheel mounting bolt and tighten to 44 Nm.

5. Install the driver's front airbag (see chapter "Passive safety system").
6. Perform the airbag system activation procedure (see chapter "Passive safety system").
7. Turn on the ignition.
8. Check the operation of the contact disk by turning the steering wheel all the way to the left and right.
9. Make sure that there are no illuminated malfunction indicators on the instrument panel.
