Removal and installation of the distribution block
Removing the distribution block
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Attention:
- To prevent atmospheric moisture from entering the air conditioning circuit, plug any openings of the air conditioning system components immediately. For this purpose, plugs for fuel lines can be used (part numbers 7 701 208 229 or 7 701 476 857). Plugs must be clean. Do not use plugs that have already been used to plug fuel lines.
- To avoid refrigerant leaks, be careful not to damage (do not deform, twist, etc.) pipelines.
2. Disconnect the connecting pipes from the expansion valve.
3. Move the connecting pipes of the expansion valve to one side.
4. Seal the openings of the connecting pipes and the expansion valve with plugs.
5. Clamp the pipelines with clamps (Ms. 583) (5).
6. Remove clamps (6) heater hoses.
7. Disconnect heater hoses.
8. Remove the dashboard.
9. Remove the front air ducts.
10. Shine the steering column.
11. Unhook the wiring from the holders (7), (8), (9) And (10).
12. Disconnect connector (11).
13. Unhook the connector of the distribution block.
14. Remove the front footwell air ducts.
15. Disconnect connectors (12) control panels.
16. Disconnect the yurradiator valve connector.
17. Disconnect heater resistor connector.
18. Disconnect the Modular Fan Speed Variator connector.
19. Using a special station, remove the refrigerant from the air conditioning system.
20. Remove the distribution block.
21. Remove the control panel, recirculation damper cable, air distribution damper cable, mixing damper cable, fan assembly, fan speed variator module, heater resistor, heater core piping, heater core, exhaust ring, evaporator sensor and expansion valve.
Distribution block installation
Attention:
- Remove the plugs from each component at the very last moment, just before installation. Also remove the components from the packaging immediately before installation.
- To avoid leaks, make sure all seals and piping surfaces are in good condition, clean and free of cracks.
1. Clean the refrigerant line seals.
2. Install all components in the reverse order of removal.
3. Using a special station, fill the required amount of refrigerant and compressor oil into the air conditioning circuit.
4. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system.
5. Check the tightness of the engine cooling system.
6. Check the tightness of the air conditioning circuit.
7. Check the performance of the air conditioning system.
