1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
2. Set the steering wheel to the position corresponding to the rectilinear movement of the car.
3. Remove the airbag module (see «Removal and installation of the driver's airbag»).
4. Turn out a bolt of fastening of a steering wheel, keeping a wheel from turning.
Note. You can secure the steering wheel from turning by using the locking mechanism of the anti-theft device of the ignition switch. To do this, remove the key from the ignition lock and turn the steering wheel until the shaft is fixed with an anti-theft device. After loosening the steering wheel mounting bolt, disable the anti-theft device by inserting the key into the ignition switch and return the steering wheel to the straight ahead position.
Warning! Do not turn out the steering wheel mounting bolt completely to avoid injury when pulling the wheel off the splines of the steering shaft. Completely unscrew the bolt only after you remove the wheel.
5. Remove the steering wheel from the steering shaft.
6. Remove the wire with the airbag block through the hole and remove the steering wheel.
7. Establish a steering wheel and the removed details in an order, the return to removal. Replace the steering wheel bolt every time you remove the steering wheel. Tighten the steering wheel mounting bolt to 44 Nm (4.4 kgf·m).
