- set the front wheels to the straight-ahead position by inserting the key into the ignition switch (lock) and releasing the locking device;
- disconnect the negative battery cable;
- remove the airbag from the steering wheel (see section "Electrical equipment");

- unscrew, but not completely, the steering wheel mounting bolt (Fig. 6.5);
- mark the relative positions of the steering wheel hub and shaft in an accessible manner;
- by rocking the steering wheel from side to side and moving it towards you at the same time, remove the wheel from the shaft splines;
- once you feel that the wheel has come off the splines, unscrew the bolt that holds it in place.
Caution: After removing the steering wheel, do not turn the steering shaft or the airbag contact group.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. In this case, do the following:
- align the marks on the wheel hub and steering shaft;
- install a new wheel bolt and tighten it to the specified torque;
- install the airbag as described in the section "Electrical equipment".
Caution! To avoid airbag deployment, do not install the airbag on a removed steering wheel. Whenever the steering wheel is removed, the airbag connector must be disconnected.
