You will need: all the tools needed to remove the body floor tunnel trim (see "Removal and installation of floor tunnel lining"), as well as a 13 mm socket head and a knife.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the floor tunnel lining (see "Removal and installation of floor tunnel lining").
3. Cut the floor mat at the rear of the arm and move the mat sections to the sides (see "Replacing the parking brake cables").

4. Move both front seats forward as far as they will go and disconnect the wire from the parking brake indicator switch.
5. Loosen the drive cables and disconnect the rear cable ends from the equalizer (see "Replacing the parking brake cables").

6. Unscrew the two nuts securing the parking brake drive lever to the body base and remove the lever together with the front drive cable.

7. Loosen the adjusting nut from the front cable end and disconnect the cable from the lever.

8. Remove the parking brake indicator light switch by unscrewing the screw that secures it.
9. Before installing on the vehicle, lubricate the toothed sector of the lever and the thread of the front cable end with consistent grease.
10. Install the parking brake lever and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
11. Adjust the parking brake drive (see "Adjusting the Parking Brake Drive").
