Adjustment
Incorrect parking brake adjustment:
- excludes the normal operation of the device for automatic wear compensation of the brake pads of the rear brakes;
- causes an increase in brake pedal travel.
Under no circumstances should the cables be re-tensioned to correct this problem, as it will quickly reappear.
The parking brake must not be used to bridge the gap between the brake pads and the disc, the parking brake must only be adjusted when replacing:
- brake pads;
- cables;
- parking brake lever.
Adjustment, except as indicated, is not permitted.
Adjustment is made in the car on the center console.
Center console adjustment
In the center armrest, lift the cover and adjust the parking brake lever nut.
Wheel adjustment
Remove both rear wheels.
Make sure:
- cables slide well in shells;
- the parking brake levers move, set them to the lowest position.
Adjust the parking brake so that the tip of the cable contacts the lever without causing it to move.
Fine-tune the adjustment so that the levers begin to move between 1 and 2 clicks of the parking brake lever travel and remain open at 2 clicks.
Install wheels.
