Precautions when removing and installing the brake caliper or brake hose

For safety reasons and to prevent the brake hoses from twisting or coming into contact with suspension parts, the following procedure must be followed.

Removal

Removal

Loosen the union nut 1 (union wrench), connecting the tube and hose 2 so that the spring 3 is completely released, which would make it possible to remove the tip of the hose from the splined hole 4.

Remove the hose from the floating bracket and remove the bracket if necessary.

Installation

Install the floating caliper in place and screw the hose into the hole of the caliper slave cylinder, then tighten the tip to a torque of 14 Nm.

The brake hoses are screwed on with the suspension installed on the vehicle in the following position:
  • the wheels are hanging;
  • wheels in straight-ahead position.

Secure the nipple end of the hose to bracket 5 without twisting the hose and check that tip 4 fits freely into the splined hole of the bracket, and then install:
  • spring 3;
  • tube onto the hose, making sure that the hose does not twist while screwing it in.

Tighten the nipple to the required torque. Remove air from the brake hydraulic drive.
