Removal
- Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
- Disconnect the connector from the fuel pressure regulator (pic. 4.69).

- Remove the regulator mounting bolts.
- Remove the pressure regulator by turning it counterclockwise. When removing the regulator from the pump, do not apply significant force to it using any tool as a lever.
Installation
- Replace sealing gaskets.
- Lubricate all new gaskets with clean diesel fuel
- Install the regulator onto the pump by turning it clockwise. Do not use any tools when installing the regulator.
- Screw in the regulator mounting bolts and tighten them to the required torque.
- Connect the electrical connector to the fuel pressure regulator.
Attention. Before carrying out any work on the fuel distribution line, connect the diagnostic tool, establish communication with the injection system control unit and ensure that the fuel distribution line is not under pressure.
- Take precautions against possible burns from hot fuel.
- After carrying out any work, check that there are no leaks from the diesel fuel supply circuit. Let the engine idle until the electric cooling fan turns on, then increase the engine speed several times while idling.
