Removal
- Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
- Disconnect the connector from the fuel pressure regulator (Fig. 4.69).

- Loosen the regulator mounting bolts.
- Remove the pressure regulator by turning it counterclockwise. When removing the regulator from the pump, do not apply significant force to it by using any tool as a lever.
Installation
- Replace the sealing gaskets.
- Lubricate all new gaskets with clean diesel fuel
- Install the regulator on the pump by turning it clockwise. Do not use any tools when installing the regulator.
- Screw in the regulator mounting bolts and tighten them to the required torque.
- Connect the electrical connector to the fuel pressure regulator.

Caution: Before performing any work on the fuel rail, connect the diagnostic tool, establish communication with the injection system control unit and ensure that the fuel rail is not under pressure.
- Take precautions against possible burns from hot fuel.
- After performing any work, make sure that there are no leaks from the diesel fuel supply circuit. Allow the engine to idle until the electric cooling fan is turned on, and then increase the engine's crankshaft speed several times while idling.
