If a malfunction occurs in the injection system, the malfunction warning lamp lights up continuously. Such malfunctions, when they occur, shut down the injection system, include:
- malfunction of the injection system control unit;
- malfunction of the engine crankshaft speed sensor;
- malfunction of the main relay or low pressure fuel pump;
- nozzle malfunction;
- mismatch between the signals from the TDC and camshaft position sensors;
- fuel pressure sensor malfunction;
- malfunction of the fuel pressure regulator solenoid valve;
- malfunction of the accelerator pedal position potentiometer;
- malfunction of the electronic engine immobilizer system;
- lack of required supply voltage to the injection system control unit;
- no voltage on the capacitor;
- malfunction of the turbocharger pressure sensor;
- turbocharger solenoid valve malfunction.
If a fault is detected when the ignition is switched on, the warning light comes on for a few seconds during the preheating phase, goes out, and then comes on again if there is a fault.
Note. The OBD warning light with an engine symbol, which comes on when the ignition is turned on, should never come on while the engine is running.
