Pre-heating when the ignition is turned on
Preheating is carried out in two phases:
- A) variable preheating - depends on the coolant temperature at the moment the ignition is turned on (pic. 4.48). In all cases, the control lamp lights up for no more than 15 s.
- b) constant preheating. After the preheat indicator lamp (variable preheat) goes out, voltage is applied to the glow plugs for another 10 s before starting the engine.

Starting the engine
The glow plugs remain energized while the starter is operating.
Post-heating with the engine running
During this phase, voltage is constantly applied to the glow plugs depending on the coolant temperature (pic. 4.49).
