2. Turn the turbine or compressor wheel, and check that the shaft is not damaged and rotates freely. Also check that the wheel blades are not damaged.
3. The reset actuator is a separate unit and can be replaced independently of the turbocharger. Consult a Renault workshop or another specialist if necessary.
4. If the exhaust or intake passages are contaminated with oil, the turbine shaft seals are probably worn or damaged. The inlet side will also have a contaminated intercooler which will need to be flushed with a suitable solvent.
5. Check that the oil supply and return pipes are not dirty or blocked, clean them if necessary.
6. Turbocharger repair is not possible. In the event of a malfunction, a new unit must be installed.
Note. The following information only applies to models with the F8Q engine. On F9Q engines, fuel trim and boost pressure are controlled by the electronic injection module.
This device is installed on the fuel pump and is designed to correct the amount of fuel injected by the pump depending on the boost pressure of the turbocharger.
The unit has an adjustment screw, but it is sealed at the factory. Therefore, do not attempt to make any adjustments without using diagnostic equipment.
If you suspect that the device is defective, consult a Renault workshop or a qualified technician.
