Note: Detailed technical characteristics of the vehicle units and systems, as well as tightening torques, are given in the tables of the relevant sections of this book.
To maintain your vehicle's operational reliability at a high level, follow the Renault maintenance program, which is provided in the service and warranty booklets.
The following checks should be performed regularly.
1. Coolant: the level should be between the "Min" and "Max" marks on the expansion tank.
2. Engine oil: the level should be between the "Min" and "Max" marks.
3. Power steering fluid: the level should be between the "Min" and "Max" marks.
4. Washer fluid: the reservoir should be full. At temperatures around zero, add frost-resistant fluid.
5. Brake and clutch hydraulic fluid: the level should be between the "Min" and "Max" marks.
Caution: Always remember that the radiator fan may start automatically some time after the engine has been turned off.
Annual midterm inspection
For vehicles with an oil change interval of at least once every two years, an optional inspection is recommended, which includes the following operations:
- checking the engine oil level;
- checking the working fluid level, condition and tightness of the brake fluid circuit;
- checking the coolant level;
- checking the working fluid level, condition and tightness of the power steering system;
- checking the fluid level in the windshield washer reservoir;
- electronic diagnostics of the battery with a tester;
- electronic diagnostics of ECU;
- condition of windshield and rear view mirrors;
- wear of windshield wiper and rear wiper blades;
- checking outdoor lighting and alarms;
- tire condition and air pressure (including spare tire or tire repair kit in aerosol can);
- condition of protective covers, suspension cushions and ball joints;
- checking the exhaust pipe;
- tightness of front and rear shock absorbers;
- wear of front and rear brake pads and brake discs.
