Note: Brake discs cannot be reground. If there is excessive wear, the brake discs must be replaced with new ones.
Removing the brake disc
1. Place the vehicle on a two post lift.
2. Set the front wheels of the vehicle to the straight ahead position.
3. Remove the front wheels from the car.
4. If equipped, mark the position of the bushing with a marker (1) at the base of the shock absorber, then unhook the sleeve (1) from the base of the shock absorber.
5. Remove the front brake pads.
6. Remove caliper bracket with brake caliper assembly (2).
7. Using a wire, hang the brake caliper with caliper (2) on the suspension spring.
8. Loosen the bolts (3) brake disc mounting.
9. Remove the brake disc from the vehicle.
Installing the brake disc
Caution: Be sure to replace the brake disc mounting bolts with new ones.
1. Clean the brake disc with a cleaning agent.
2. Dry the surface of the brake disc with compressed air.
3. Clean the contact surface of the hub with the brake disc with a wire brush and brake cleaner.
4. Install the brake disc and tighten the new mounting bolts to 21 Nm.
5. Install brake caliper bracket with caliper assembly.
6. If equipped, insert the bushing into the holder at the base of the shock absorber, matching the previously made marks.
Attention:
To avoid damage to the brake hose:
- do not stretch the hose;
- do not twist the hose;
- make sure that the hose does not come into contact with surrounding components.
7. Install the front wheel on the car.
Attention: To avoid accidents, after installing the brake components, it is necessary to bring the brakes to readiness by depressing the brake pedal several times.
Note: When replacing the brake discs, the set of brake pads on both sides of the vehicle must also be replaced. After that, when driving a car, it is not recommended to make emergency braking for the first time so that the brake pads run in.
