Removal the side impact sensor
1. Block the airbag processor.
2. Turn off the ignition.
3. Disconnect the battery.
4. Remove the middle pillar trim.
5. Loosen the side impact sensor mounting bolt (1) by 6 turns.
6. Remove the side impact sensor from the housing at points (2).

7. Disconnect the wiring connector (3) of the side impact sensor.
Installing a side impact sensor
Caution: Be sure to replace the side impact sensor with a new one after each removal.
1. Connect the side impact sensor connector.
2. Install the side impact sensor.
3. Tighten the side impact sensor mounting bolt to 8 Nm.
4. Install the lower trim of the B-pillar.
5. Connect the battery.
Caution: To avoid triggering pyrotechnic elements after servicing (airbags and seat belt pretensioners), monitor the airbag processor using the "Diagnostic Tool".
6. Unlock the airbag processor.
