Note. The manufacturer recommends dismantling the exhaust gas system with cutting out its elements in order to gain access to the gearbox control drive rod (see «Replacement of elements of system of release of the fulfilled gases»). However, it is possible to do without dismembering the system (which is required only in case of replacement of its individual elements), by removing the entire system assembly.
Note. Perform work on a viewing ditch or on a lift.
You will need: tools needed to remove the exhaust system and a wrench «at 13».
1. In the engine compartment, disconnect the gearshift control rod from the gearshift lever (see paragraphs. 9–12 «Removal and installation of a transmission»).
2. Disconnect fasteners (see «Replacement of elements of system of release of the fulfilled gases») and move the exhaust system aside.
Note. The manufacturer recommends partially removing the exhaust system to remove the gearbox control drive rod. However, the system can not be disassembled and removed completely. It is enough to disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold, disconnect the suspension cushions of the system in the area of the exhaust gas converter and take the system to the side.
3. From the bottom of the car, unscrew the nut of the gear control drive rod...
4.... remove the flat washer from the finger...
5....and remove the traction from the car.
6. If the transmission control lever vibrates while driving, replace the two plastic bushings in the lower lever head.
7. Install the gearbox control rod in the reverse order of removal, in accordance with the marks applied before removal (see point 10 «Removal and installation of a transmission»).
