Note: The manufacturer recommends that in order to gain access to the gearbox control drive rod, the exhaust system be disassembled by cutting out its components (see "Replacing elements of the exhaust system"). However, it is possible to do without dismembering the system (which is only required in case of replacement of its individual elements), having removed the entire system as a whole.
Note: Perform work on an inspection pit or on a lift.
You will need: tools necessary for removing the exhaust system and a 13 mm wrench.
1. In the engine compartment, disconnect the gearbox control rod from the gearbox lever (see paragraphs 9–12 "Removal and installation of the gearbox").

2. Disconnect the fasteners (see "Replacing the exhaust system components") and move the exhaust system to the side.
Note. The manufacturer recommends partially removing the exhaust system to remove the transmission control rod. However, the system does not need to be disassembled or removed completely. It is enough to disconnect the intake pipe from the exhaust manifold, disconnect the suspension cushions of the system in the area of the exhaust neutralizer and move the system to the side.
3. From underneath the vehicle, unscrew the nut on the gearbox control rod pin...
4. ... remove the flat washer from the pin...
5. ...and remove the traction from the car.
6. If vibration of the gearshift lever is observed while the vehicle is moving, replace the two plastic bushings in the lower head of the lever.
7. Set the transmission control drive rod in the reverse order of removal, according to the marks applied before removal (see point 10 "Removal and installation of the gearbox").
