Pre-check the pressure in the fuel supply system in the following order.
1. Check the fuel pressure regulator (see «Checking and replacing the fuel pressure regulator»).
2. If the system pressure is less than 250 kPa (2.5 kgf/cm2), replace the fuel filter (see «Fuel filter replacement»).
3. If this does not help, remove the pump and flush the fuel inlet screen. If the pressure still does not rise, the fuel pump must be replaced.
You will need a flat blade screwdriver.
1. Reduce the pressure in the supply system (see «Reducing the pressure in the power system»).
2. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
3. Remove the rear seat cushion (see «Removal and installation of a back seat»).
4. Pry with a screwdriver...
5.... and remove the plastic manhole cover.
6. Wring out a clamp and disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the module of the fuel pump.
7. Disconnect the high pressure fuel lines from the pump fittings...
8.... and drain fuel line.
9. Unscrew the pressure ring of the fuel pump module by installing the pliers handles and the lever, as shown in the photo...
10.... and remove the ring.
11. Carefully remove the fuel pump module and drain the fuel from it into a previously prepared container.
12. Remove the seal.
Note. Be sure to replace the gasket if it is torn or severely compressed.
13. Disconnect the fuel level sensor block.
14. Squeeze the plastic clips and remove the fuel pump assembly from the storage cup.
15. Remove the fuel inlet filter from the pump.
16. Press the latches with a screwdriver and remove the upper part of the fuel pump assembly...
17.... by disconnecting the wire blocks from the pump.
18. Remove the pump from the module housing.
19. Disconnect the fuel hose from the pump.
20. Reassemble the fuel pump module in the reverse order of disassembly.
21. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
Note. Make sure that when installing the module, the marks on the fuel tank and the module body match.
