Dynamic check

Install a T-shaped adapter with a pressure gauge on the pneumatic channel of the air boost system capacity corrector. Place the pressure gauge in the car's interior.

Conduct a road test under the following conditions:
  • when the car is moving in 5th gear;
  • mark the values and compare them with the reference values at engine speeds of 2000 and 4300 min⁻¹;
  • at a crankshaft speed of 2000 min⁻¹ press the accelerator pedal all the way down, while the crankshaft speed and turbo boost pressure should increase

Achieved values (to the air-to-air heat exchanger)

Engine crankshaft speed. min⁻¹ Turbo boost pressure value during testing, mbar
2000 750±50
4300 865150

Static check

  • This test is performed on the turbocharger installed in place
  • Install a dial indicator on a magnetic stand at the end of the boost pressure control valve
  • Using a hand pump or the Renault Mot. 1014 tool, apply a slight pressure to the valve.
  • Measure the valve stem travel
  • Compare the values of the control valve stem stroke with the values given in the "Technical Specifications".

  • If necessary, adjust the pressure as follows.
  • The stroke of the pressure regulator control rod is checked using an indicator installed at the end of the rod, for which, using the Mot. 1014 pressure gauge, apply increasing pressure to the pressure regulator.

Pressure calibration values

Pressure adjustment values, mbar Traction travel, mm
903±47 0,38
1085±30 4

  • If necessary, remove the retaining ring and regulator lever rod.
  • Using pliers, hold the rod on the side of the pressure regulator and loosen the lock nut, then tighten or loosen the threaded tip. Adjust by rotating the tip half a turn (turn to increase the pressure calibration value).

Note: Refitting the threaded end is made easier by using tool Mot. 1014 and applying increasing pressure.
