Dynamic check
Install a T-shaped adapter with a pressure gauge on the pneumatic channel of the air flow corrector of the air charging system. Place the pressure gauge inside the car.
Carry out a road test under the following conditions:
- when the car is moving in 5th gear;
- note the values and compare them with control values at engine speeds of 2,000 and 4,300 min-1;
- at a crankshaft speed of 2000 rpm, press the accelerator pedal all the way, while the crankshaft speed and turbocharging pressure should increase
Achievable values (to the air-to-air heat exchanger)
Engine rotation speed. min-1 | Turbocharge pressure value when checking, mbar |
2000 | 750±50 |
4300 | 865150 |
Static check
- This check is carried out on the turbocharger. installed on site
- Install a dial indicator on a magnetic stand at the end of the boost pressure control valve
- Using a hand pump or Renault Mot. 1014 create a slight pressure acting on the valve.
- Measure valve stem movement
- Compare the control valve stroke values with the values given in «Technical specifications».
Pic. 3.44. Turbocharger pressure adjustment: 1 - retaining ring; 2 - pressure regulator rod; 3 - air duct; A - threaded tip
- If necessary, adjust the pressure as follows.
- Checking the stroke of the pressure regulator control rod is carried out using an indicator installed at the end of the rod, for which using a pressure gauge Mot. 1014 apply increasing pressure to the pressure regulator.
Pressure calibration values
Adjustment pressure values, mbar | Traction movement, mm |
903±47 | 0,38 |
1085±30 | 4 |
- If necessary, remove the retaining ring and the adjuster lever rod.
- Using pliers, hold the rod on the side of the pressure regulator, loosen the lock nut, then tighten or unscrew the threaded end. Adjust by rotating the tip half a turn (screw to increase pressure calibration value).
Note. Replacement of the threaded end is simplified using tool Mot. 1014 and when increasing pressure is applied.
