Removal
- Removal of the cylinder head must be carried out with the engine removed from the vehicle.
- Remove the cap from the oil filler neck.
- Remove the timing belt of the valve timing mechanism.
- Remove the bolt securing the power steering hydraulic reservoir and move it to the side.
- Remove the plastic wiring harness protection shield from the intake manifold.
- Remove the EGR capsule and its pipe.
- Remove the intake manifold mounting bolts.
- Lift the manifold slightly and remove the two screws securing the crankcase ventilation hose secured under the manifold.
- Remove the intake manifold and its gasket.
- Remove the two bolts securing the cooling system pipe to the cylinder head from the flywheel side.
- Remove the turbocharger thermal shield.
- Unscrew the bolts securing the oil vapor separation tank and move it to the side.
- Remove the engine oil inlet and outlet pipes and the cooled support from the turbocharger.
- Remove the turbocharger support eyes and disconnect the air pipes from it.
- Disconnect the flexible coolant hose, cables and electrical connectors from the cylinder head.
- Special key Renault Mot. 1383 disconnect and remove the high pressure pipes.
- Remove the fuel injectors.
- Remove the thermal protection washers and injector O-rings.
- Remove the cylinder head cover and its gasket.
- Remove the cylinder head bolts.
- Remove the cylinder head and gasket.
Installation
- Clean the surface of the cylinder head, being careful not to scratch the aluminum alloy from which the cylinder head is made. To remove stuck parts of the gasket, use Decapjoint solvent.
- Clean the surface of the cylinder block mating with the cylinder head gasket.
- Check the presence of bushings centering the head on the cylinder block.

- Check the smooth rotation of the camshaft
- Install a new cylinder head gasket, centering it on the guide bushings.
- Lubricate the threads, base of bolt heads and washers with engine oil.
Note. New bolts must be used to secure the cylinder head. Check that the cylinder head bolt holes in the cylinder block are clean and free of oil
- Screw in the cylinder head bolts and tighten them in sequence. shown in Figure 3.52
- Install the cylinder head cover with gasket and secure with bolts, tightening them to the required torque.
- Lock the camshaft in the valve timing position.
- Install a new thermal protection liner and O-ring for each injector (rice. 3.13).
- Install the injectors.
- Install with a special Renault Mot key. 1383 screw the high pressure pipelines.
