Removal

  • Place the car on a lift and raise the front wheels.
  • Remove the right front wheel.
  • Remove the front right wheel arch liner.
  • Install the Mot. 1370 lever by gripping the tension roller axle at the rear.
  • Lock the automatic tensioner by sliding it towards the rear of the vehicle and remove the belt
  • Install the locking pin Mot. 1376. Remove the lever Mot. 1370 and install the key Mot. 1368. Loosen the bolt and remove the eccentric adjusting roller
  • On vehicles without air conditioning, remove the accessory drive belt by using an Allen key to loosen the tensioner pulley retaining bolt a quarter turn, then turn the pulley counterclockwise. Remove the belt.

Installation

  • Do not install the removed belt, replace it with a new one
  • Install the belt on the pulleys and adjust its tension as follows.
  • Start the operation by tensioning the belt, using tool Mot 1369, turning the adjusting roller (E) towards the rear of the vehicle until the locking pin Mot. 1376 is released.
  • Using key Mot. 1368, tighten the adjusting roller fixing bolt. In this case, the plastic cover above the lock Mot. 1376 may prevent the latter from moving. In this case, use lever Mot. 1370 to remove the lock.
  • On vehicles without air conditioning, use an Allen key to tighten the central bolt of the tension roller until the gap between the bolt head and the roller is completely selected. Fit a new belt and tension it until the required value appears on the display of the Mot. 1273 instrument.
  • Completely install the pendulum suspension unit and its travel limiter.
