  • The EGR function is controlled by the electronic unit via a solenoid valve controlled by the cyclic opening law.
  • The EGR valve is pneumatically controlled. Its opening is a function of the control electrical signal of the electromagnetic valve.

At:
  • I = 1.1 A - fully open
  • I = 0 A - closing
  • 0 A < I < 1.1 A - partial opening

The control electrical signal supplied by the control unit to the solenoid valve depends on the following conditions:
  • loads;
  • regime;
  • altitude above sea level;
  • coolant temperature;
  • air temperature.

In any case, the EGR system is switched off if the air temperature is less than 19°C and the coolant temperature is less than 40°C, and also if the vehicle is not moving and the engine is idling for more than 20 seconds.
