- The EGR function is controlled by the electronic unit through a solenoid valve controlled according to the law of cyclic opening.
- The EGR valve is pneumatically controlled. Its opening is a function of the control electrical signal from the solenoid valve.
At:
- I = 1.1 A - full opening
- I = 0 A - closing
- 0 A < I < 1.1 A - partial opening
The electrical control signal supplied by the control unit to the solenoid valve depends on the following conditions:
- loads;
- mode;
- altitude above sea level;
- coolant temperature;
- air temperature.
In any case, the EGR system is turned off if the air temperature is less than 19°C and the coolant temperature is less than 40°C, as well as if the car is not moving and the engine is idling for more than 20 seconds.
