Removal
- Removing the rear suspension beam with body height control is carried out in the same way as rear suspension beams without body height control, taking into account the following.
- Unscrew the nut (2, fig. 11.11) lower mounting of each air spring.
- Unscrew the nut securing the ball joint pin to the beam (3, fig. 11.16) and disconnect the body position sensor linkage.
Note. When replacing a rear suspension beam, the air spring bases must be centered on the cups of the new beam. This is necessary to ensure proper operation and longevity of the air spring.
Air spring centering
- Attach the Sus fixture. 1193 on the air spring, do not unscrew the upper mounting bolts.
- Coaxially drill out the lock washer (2. fig. 11.10) through two holes (1), then secure it with two rivets with a diameter of 3.2 mm.
- Remove the Sus tool. 1193, then install the lower washer (3) and tighten the nut (4).

Installation
- Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
- Tighten the nuts and bolts securing the silent blocks to the required torque at the normal height of the body of the loaded vehicle.
- Remove air from the brake system.
Note:
- Check the functioning of the pneumatic system for maintaining body height and the installation height of the loaded vehicle body; in this case, dimension H5 must be maintained (rice. 11.3) measured between the rearmost floor cross member and the road surface: 412 mm with 195 mm tyres, 422 mm with 205 mm tyres.
- This size corresponds to a constant vehicle ground clearance, regardless of load (at normal tire pressure).
