All engines
1. Lubricate the piston with engine oil and insert it into the sleeve. Using a special tool, install the rings into the piston grooves. Insert the pistons so that the upper edge of the connecting rod surface and the upper end of the sleeve are parallel. The arrows in the piston bottoms should point in a certain direction:
- 4-cylinder petrol engine - Arrows to flywheel
- Turbocharged Diesel Engine - Prechamber side towards injectors, opposite side from oil filter
- V6 Engines - Arrows to Pulley
2. Place a new sealing ring on the bottom surface of the sleeve, then place the second sealing ring (diesel engine) or a sealing gasket (v6 engine).
3. Insert the liners into the cylinder block without turning them over, having first determined the installation size of the cylinder liners.
4. Further assembly is carried out in accordance with the instructions for assembling the engine of the corresponding model.
5. The connecting rods of the 1995 cc carburettor engine may either be drilled near the connecting rod bearing or have no channel.
6. The connecting rods of 4-cylinder fuel-injected engines have an oil hole, so oil can splash onto the bottom surface of the pistons. However, the upper bearing shells have an oil hole, which should provide oil to the connecting rod bearings. There are no holes in the lower bearing shells. The oil holes in the connecting rods should be on the same side as the oil filter.
