Average volume of engine oil
Models with K4M engine:
- 4.7 l (no oil filter change)
- 4.8 l (with oil filter change)
Models with K9K engine:
- 4.0 l (no oil filter change)
- 4.1 l (with oil filter change)
Attention!
- Be sure to check the oil level on the dipstick. Do not exceed the maximum level on the dipstick (this can lead to engine failure).
- Before handing over the car to the owner, if necessary, bring the engine oil level to the norm on the dipstick.
Note: After filling the engine with oil, be sure to wait at least 10 minutes before checking the level to allow the oil to drain completely into the crankcase.
Parts that must be replaced: drain plug gasket on the engine oil pan.
Oil drain
Place the car on a two post lift.
Remove:
- cork (1) engine oil filler neck
- oil dipstick.
Install the crankcase ventilation pan under the engine.
Loosen the drain plug (2) with a drain plug wrench.
Let the oil drain completely.
Remove the drain plug gasket.
Rubber lip gasket
Install a new gasket on the drain plug (installation direction is irrelevant).
Close the drain plug.
Torque tighten the drain plug (20 Nm) using a torque wrench with a drain plug wrench, 8 mm square.
Wipe off any drained oil from the engine sump with a rag.
Remove the crankcase ventilation pan retainer.
Refueling
Fill the engine with the prescribed amount of oil.
Wait at least 10 minutes.
Check the engine oil level on the dipstick.
Top up the oil level if necessary.
Install:
- engine oil filler cap,
- oil dipstick.
