Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove:
- gearbox,
- clutch,
- flywheel.
Models with K4M engine
Remove the crankshaft seal with a screwdriver (1) from the side of the gearbox.
Note: Be careful not to damage the mating surface of the crankshaft.
Models with K9K engine
Install the puller on the shaft by bending the grips (2) according to the shaft diameter using a knurled disk (3).
Wrap the knurled disc (5) before blocking (4), to secure the clamps to the shaft.
Screw the extractor into the stuffing box with a hex nut (6).
Remove the oil seal from the gearbox side by turning the threaded rod (7).
Installation
Parts subject to mandatory replacement: crankshaft oil seal on the flywheel side.
Attention! To ensure sealing, mating surfaces must be clean, dry and free of oil (don't touch them with your fingers).
Wipe with surface cleaner:
- oil seal seat on the crankshaft,
- crankshaft oil seal socket on the cylinder block.
Models with K9K engine
Note:
- These types of seals are easily damaged.
- When working with them, be sure to use a protective sleeve (8). It is strictly forbidden to touch the gland (9) hands to prevent oil leakage after installing the oil seal on the engine.
Install the fixture on the crankshaft, securing it with bolts (10).
Install the safety sleeve with the stuffing box on the fixture, being careful not to touch the stuffing box.
Install cap (11) and a nut (12) (while the threaded hole (13) nuts should be facing away from the engine).
Tighten the nut until the cap touches the cylinder block.
Remove the nut, cap, protective sleeve and lining.
Models with K4M engine
Install the crankshaft oil seal on the transmission side using the tool (14).
Install:
- flywheel,
- clutch,
- gearbox.
Connect the battery.
Run:
- fill the oil in the manual transmission,
- Bleed the air from the hydraulic clutch.
